Awesome Weekend

Finally tried Chef Lau's weekend brunch at Bistro Filipino last Saturday. It was an awesome dining experience. Loved every entree we got from the menu. My favorites were the 3 kinds of Mango Salad as well as the Tomato Munggo Martini, I'm still dreaming about it now. The molten chocolate cake for dessert was a perfect treat to end a wonderful meal.

Rod and I sampled their chocolate truffles too! The chocolates were made from high quality chocolate with a fusion of local treats such as Truffle mixed with squash and calamansi. Genius!

I didn't eat breakfast and I skipped Dinner to be able to afford the caloriffic brunch we had that day but it was all worth it!

Poor Jinkee!

Wow! After several months of hiatus here I am with my blog post about Jinkee Pacquiao. . .

I feel for her, the misery she must be enduring, the things she has to put up with such as her womanizing husband. The price you have to pay for misguided fortune turned torture for the loving wife. If you were in Jinkee's shoes, what would you do? Would you stick by your man and stomach the rumors going around or roll with the punches and buy all the Chanel and Birkin bags you can ever imagine?

It is said that no amount of success can compensate for a failure of a home. I hope that Manny wakes up, (this goes for all the successful men out there whose fame reached their empty heads) and realize that despite his global success, he should remain truthful to his vows by being loyal and dedicated to his family. He should get rid of his ballooning entourage too!

As for all the intrigueras out there, we should also give the Pacquiao family a break by not making the headlines so hard to bear for Jinkee.

It's a pity how an educated, beautiful young woman such as Krista associates herself with married men. What a shame!

Human Nature

If they say -
Why, why, tell 'em that it's human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say -
Why, why, tell 'em that it's human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way

It's always the case, we're one lifetime too late in honoring special people such as Micheal Jackson, and I hold no exception. At first, I was oblivious to the whole MJ untimely demise but being bombarded by the news and songs of MJ made me cave in, and I realized how truly a remarkable person he is. All this stories of his philantriphic nature made me feel sad. He's gone now. Sad because of what human nature has brought upon him. His stardom made him the subject of scrutiny and jealousy. He was depicted in his gestures, mostly given unjust judgement. His being a big-hearted person was never revered, it took a back seat and yet he never sang his own praises. And look at the whole world now? The world literally stopped to honor the death of the King of Pop. The greatest talent of all time is now gone...

The people made him what he was when he was still alive. Our reaction and obsession to him drove him to drug addiction. Again, its human nature. But then again, is it really human nature to be this EVIL? To be unjustly judgmental? Are humans innately evil by nature? We thrive in negativity, jealousy and putting down people who are better than us. We take pleasure in destroying goodness whether be it on relationships, people or even on beautiful things around us (ie mother earth). When will we stop this unwanted human nature of being destructive? Maybe when everyone and everything is GONE forever.

May we appreciate people more as we are reminded that nothing is permanent in life, every second counts. Let's make a better world.

Half Year Resolution

7 months have passed and here I am still committing to a resolution to have a toner body. I have always had a body thinner than what I have now. It's quite hard for me to see my belly bulge and my thighs sag with dimples. I need to do something about it. FAST! I've been playing tennis regularly but its not amounting to anything, well, not yet at least. So, I've decided to incorporate a morning work out to my fitness program. Hopefully, it complements my goal to lose my excess poundage and target my problem area (i.e. lower body). I would die to have a body like G. Paltrow but I have come to accept the fact that may never happen to me. Acceptance is the key. Know when to give up. Be realistic. Above all, work hard to achieve your GOAL. And since I will never have the same exact body as Paltrow, I might as well get the next best thing, follow her work out! It would be totally awesome to have a personal trainer push me every morning but again, reality check! I love Tracy Anderson's method of developing the body into a lean, fit figure not bulky at all. I want lean, long, thin muscles to still make me look feminine. I hope I get to achieve my goal to have a leaner, more toned body! Otherwise, I will just have to wake up each morning sungit because none of my pants fit me. BOO!!

Smooth as Silk

Well, not really as smooth as silk but at least my alligator skin is feeling much better than its normal state of dryness.

I've had a bottle of Neutrogena Body Oil for quite a while now. Say 5 years or more already but I never got the chance to use it. Then one night after showering I put it on my damp skin and Viola! my skin felt more supple the next day. Unlike slathering on ordinary lotion onto my skin, the light oil does better work than my (Aveeno) body lotion. Plus, it doesn't smell bad either. Yay!! on my new discovery. Now, my skin is not so DRY anymore. Although, I also think that my intake of H2O has got something to do with it (skin condition). Water, really, is the key element in having moisturized skin more than bottles upon bottles of lotion or oil.

S T R E S S

It never fails, every time I call the DFA, I get soooooooo hot headed!!!! This is really a good time to practice patience but I truly, seriously, HATE any government office. They're all inefficient and CORRUPT. Not to mention LAZY!

Simple as acquiring a CTC, I need to get tons of documents signed and notarized. This is their way to acquire more venues for corruption. I hate it!!! I'm so sick and tired of incompetency in our system. NO words can actually describe how turned off I am with how our sucky system. There are no online instructions, if any, its incomplete!! What the hell?!!

DFA people, hear me, I hate all of you. Also, people from LTO, I hate all of you as well.

Rot in hell, stupid people!!!

A Girl Can Never Have Enough Shoes...

Whether they're kitten heels, chunky soles or mules, your shoes say a lot about you and barely a day goes past without someone in the office appearing after lunch with a shoebox full of potential. Let's face it: shoes can make or break an outfit... If the concept of wearing anything other than trainers is as alien to you as walking along with two kippers tied to your feet, then why not live-a-little and update your look with some glamorous footwear.

There's always an Imelda in us telling us to get those shoes out on the display window of our favorite shoe store. I just love DESU's sophisticated collection, they're comfortable, stylish and most of all, AFFORDABLE. So, if you want to spruce up your wardrobe, hurry and get yourself a pair of new shoes over at DESU located in Rustan's Shangri-La, Alabang or Paradi in GB5.
